Everyone desires money right? Don't act like you don't. The question clearly states, does GRAPHIC designers make money. In all realness, YES.

I teach a Fine Arts class to 9th graders. I am teaching them the basics of graphics. I explain to them that you can make "hella" money in graphic design. NOW, what people don't tell you is how to get started & some challenges you may face.

Listen, I have your back. Let's clear things up. I want make sure we are the same page. YES! graphic designers make a great amount money!

1. How to get started?

This part is usually easy if you are determined. Keep in mind, that you shouldn't be caught on just the "making the money" part. You have to be invested and compassionate about what you do. Your customers want to know that they are safe in your hands when it comes down to designing their company logo, flyers, or even developing their websites.

Getting Started:

-Build your brand name and colors

-Determine what your motivation is.

-Determine your targeted audience.

-Advertise your company. (Family, Friends, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn)

-Start your LLC, Nonprofit, Corporation

2. The Challenges:

In every new business, there is going to be some kind of resistance. That resistance could be you, lack of enthusiasm, lack of support, no funds to invest.

I always say, in anything you CAN do it! You may face some of these challenges.

-No money to begin

-No graphic design skills

-Poor advertising skills

-No support

-Working full time

-College full time

-Husband or Wife with or without children

-Concerned only about making money

-Exhausted

-Procrastinator

Even though some of these challenges may be difficult, it takes YOU. I tell people to move in SILENCE. Never let your right hand know what your left hand is doing and vice versa. Challenges will come. You have to make up in your mind that you are going PUSH and get your business started. No more playing games. It's time for you make "HELLA" money.
